Validating Airspace CFD Models For Drone Operation with Flight Test Data

This study validates high resolution wind models (RANS and IDDES) for urban and airport environments by comparing simulations against static sensors and "SnapShot" nano-glider flight data. The high correlation between these sources demonstrates a reliable method for validating the localised flow models necessary for safe, future UAV operations.
